Indian mid-cap stocks under pressure as BSE Midcap drops 1.2% amid market weakness
Mid-cap and small-cap stocks in India slid notably on 6 Nov, indicating profit-booking and risk-off flows in the smaller-stock segment.
On 6 November 2025, India’s mid-cap segment came under significant pressure with the BSE Midcap Index falling around 1.19% and the BSE Smallcap Index down about 1.53%. Analysts attribute the move to profit-booking in riskier stocks, foreign fund outflows and fading liquidity support. Over the past five days the mid-cap segment has slipped another ~0.8%, showing signs of vulnerability compared to large-caps. The sharp out-performance of mid/small caps earlier in the year may be reversing for now.
