On 9 November 2025, Ola Electric issued a formal statement rejecting media reports that it had benefited from a leaked pouch-cell battery design, ahead of its launch of the indigenous 4680 Bharat Cell.
The company emphasised the pouch format cited in reports was not part of its roadmap and accused foreign rivals of “weaponising media narratives” as the firm scales up its gigafactory and R&D base.
