Indian mutual fund body reports net outflow despite record SIPs in September

Indian mutual funds saw net outflows overall in September despite record SIP flows and rising AUM.
The Indian mutual-fund industry’s assets under management (AUM) rose modestly to ₹75.61 lakh crore in September 2025, even as total net flows turned negative for the first time this fiscal year with outflows of ₹43,146 crore. Equity funds still posted monthly inflows of ₹30,422 crore, though down 9 % month-on-month. Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) contributions hit a record ₹29,361 crore. The divergence signals strong retail participation but caution in other segments such as debt and thematic funds.
