Indian mutual-fund industry AUM reaches record ₹75.61 lakh crore in Sept

India’s mutual-fund industry crossed a new milestone with assets under management (AUM) hitting around ₹75.61 lakh crore as of September 2025, marking a year-on-year growth of approximately 12.7%. Equity-oriented schemes were the major contributors to this increase, signalling sustained investor interest in equities amidst volatility. The growth reflects strong retail SIP (systematic investment plan) activity and renewed institutional allocations. Industry experts say that while valuations are high, the rising AUM shows resilience of India’s savings engine and the growing role of mutual funds in household investment portfolios.
