Markets in India will be closed on October 21 for Diwali, with a special one-hour trading session from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm.
India’s equity, debt and currency markets will be closed on Tuesday, October 21 2025 for the Diwali Lakshmi Puja holiday. Both the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India will hold a special one-hour Muhurat trading session from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm IST to mark the start of Samvat 2082. The cattle market and derivatives segments will also participate in the short session. Investors are advised to plan portfolio moves accordingly, as normal trading resumes only the following day and liquidity may be thin during the brief window.
