Between 2020 and 2025, the Indian IPO market raised ₹5.39 lakh crore, surpassing the ₹4.56 lakh crore raised in the previous two decades (2000–2020). However, the number of IPOs in this period was only 336, compared to 658 during the earlier period, signaling that the market has seen significantly larger average deal sizes. Analysts attribute this trend to a strong appetite for large-cap and high-growth startups, as well as regulatory changes that have helped boost investor confidence and the number of high-value offerings in recent years.
