The Walt Disney Company agreed to invest about $1 billion in OpenAI and signed a three-year licensing agreement that allows OpenAI’s generative AI video platform Sora to use more than 200 characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars in user-generated short videos. The pact also lets Disney use OpenAI’s APIs, including ChatGPT, for internal tools and products while excluding talent likenesses or voices.
