India and Australia reviewed CECA negotiations, committing to early conclusion of a balanced trade pact covering goods, services and investment.
On 8 November 2025, India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Australia’s Trade Minister Don Farrell held discussions on advancing the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA).
They reaffirmed commitment to a balanced, mutually beneficial deal covering goods, services and investment, and set a target for early completion of the second tranche. Officials noted that stronger trade ties would support India’s manufacturing and export ambitions.
The review came at a time when global trade realignments are gaining momentum and India is seeking deeper linkages beyond traditional markets.
