India’s employability improves to 56.
According to the India Skills Report 2026, released on 16 November 2025, overall employability in India rose to 56.35% from 54.81% last year. Computer science and IT graduates lead the pack with employability at 80% and 78% respectively, powered by demand in AI, data analytics and automation.
Engineering graduates held at 70.15%. Soft skills such as communication and adaptability are gaining prominence alongside technical expertise. The gig workforce is also growing as more professionals opt for project-based work rather than traditional jobs.
