India’s October CPI Falls to 5.04 Percent as Food Price Pressures Ease
India’s October CPI cooled to 5.
India’s consumer inflation eased to 5.04 percent in October 2025, marking the lowest level since January, according to data from the National Statistical Office. Food inflation moderated to 6.2 percent from 7.3 percent in September as vegetable and edible oil prices declined. Core inflation stayed at 4.3 percent. Economists said the moderation strengthens the case for the RBI to hold policy rates through the next quarter.

The easing trend should improve household purchasing power and sustain demand momentum through the festive period.
