A Reuters poll of 42 economists conducted Nov 4–7 indicates India’s CPI inflation likely fell to 0.48% in October 2025 from 1.54% in September, driven mainly by easing food prices and favourable base effects.
If confirmed, the print would be the lowest in the current CPI series and could ease near-term inflationary pressure.
Market participants said the reading may give the Reserve Bank of India additional room to consider policy calibration later in the cycle.
