India‑US trade deal talks intensify as negotiations hit key phase
India says its trade negotiations with the US are active as both countries aim for a major bilateral trade deal, targeting US$500bn by 2030.
On 6 November 2025, India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that negotiation efforts with the United States are "in full force" as both nations aim to conclude a bilateral trade agreement. Talks cover issues ranging from agriculture market access to tariffs, with India emphasising that any deal must protect its farmers and MSMEs. The current trade between the two countries stands at around US$191 billion, with a long‑term target of US$500 billion by 2030.
