India approves ₹55 billion in electronics-component projects to boost domestic production

India green-lights ₹55 billion in electronics-component manufacturing projects, aimed at import substitution and job creation over 5,100 roles.
The Indian government has approved seven projects totaling ₹55 billion (≈US $625.75 million) to expand domestic manufacturing of electronics components, including multi-layer PCBs, camera modules and laminates. Located across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, the plants are projected to generate output worth ₹365.59 billion and more than 5,100 jobs. These measures are part of India’s broader strategy to reduce import-dependence and strengthen the supply chain for defence, telecom, EV and renewable segments.
