New approvals worth about $626 million target PCBs, modules and materials, supporting India’s electronics supply-chain strategy under PLI and semiconductor initiatives.
India approved seven projects worth over ₹55 billion (~$626 million) to scale domestic production of electronic components, Reuters reported, citing the IT ministry. Proposals span PCBs, camera modules, laminates and specialty materials by firms including Kaynes Circuits, SRF, Syrma Strategic Electronics and Ascent Circuits, across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Authorities expect output of ₹365.6 billion and 5,100 direct jobs. The push complements PLI schemes and the Semiconductor Mission aimed at reducing import dependence and strengthening supply chains for telecom, EVs and renewables.
