A survey finds majority of global hedge funds now invest in crypto, increasing institutionalisation and regulatory risk.
On 6 November 2025, the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) said over 50 % of hedge-fund managers currently hold cryptocurrency assets, with total AUM in hedge funds reaching nearly US$5 trillion in Q3 2025. Respondents flagged insufficient institutional-grade infrastructure and flash-crashes as key risks.
