Over half of hedge funds now hold crypto assets, survey shows

A global survey shows 55% of hedge funds now invest in crypto, signalling growing institutional adoption.
According to a survey released on 6 November 2025 by the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and PwC, 55% of hedge funds now hold cryptocurrency-related assets, up from 47% a year earlier. The average allocation is about 7% of assets under management, though more than half of those hold allocating funds under 2%. The survey noted that 67% of crypto-holding funds employ derivatives, raising concerns around structural risk in digital-asset markets.
