Meta Platforms has hired four senior researchers who previously worked at OpenAI, signalling a push to strengthen Meta’s AI capabilities. The hires specialise in reinforcement learning, large-language model architecture and multimodal research. The move aligns with Meta’s plan to scale its Llama series of models and support its global infrastructure expansion, including a new AI compute centre in Iowa.
Meta did not disclose financial terms but noted that the talent acquisition is part of its “Fundamental AI Research” initiative aimed at next-generation foundation models.
