On 9 November 2025 the AI‑search startup Perplexity launched its upgraded ‘Comet Assistant’ for Windows & Mac users, enabling users to ask questions directly about any webpage, among other enhancements.
The update forms part of a larger shift toward agentic AI experiences beyond traditional search tabs.
Perplexity’s new version also integrates RAG (retrieval‑augmented generation), image reasoning and improved multi‑modal browsing-raising the bar for what AI assistants can perform in everyday browsing workflows.
