Foxconn approved ~$1.
Foxconn Technology Group’s board approved an investment of up to NT$42 billion (around $1.37 billion) to procure equipment and build an AI compute cluster and supercomputing centre, likely located in Taiwan. The investment, to be made between December 2025 and December 2026, is part of the firm’s push beyond smartphone manufacturing into AI infrastructure and cloud-computing services. Foxconn had already announced plans earlier this year for a data-centre equipment venture with SoftBank Group in Ohio and is now doubling down on Taiwan’s tech ecosystem.
