OpenAI has signed landmark agreements with South Korea’s Samsung and SK Hynix to supply advanced chips for its $500B Stargate project. The deals, announced after CEO Sam Altman’s meeting with President Lee Jae Myung, aim to boost South Korea’s role in global AI infrastructure. SK Telecom may host a ‘Stargate Korea’ AI data center, while Samsung affiliates will help develop floating data centers to reduce land use, cooling costs, and emissions.
