Equity benchmarks in India advanced for a second straight session, supported by buying in metal stocks and firmer global cues. The BSE Sensex rose 449.53 points , or 0.53 percent, to close at 85,267.66 , while the NSE Nifty finished above the 26,000 mark. Intraday, the Sensex climbed as much as 502 points. Gains were led by Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement, Larsen and Toubro, Maruti, and Bharti Airtel, while select FMCG and pharma stocks lagged.
