India’s Department of Science & Technology (DST) has proposed a new Research, Development & Innovation (RDI) fund of around ₹1 lakh crore to seed deep-tech startups in fields like quantum computing, AI, robotics and advanced communications. The aim is to ramp private-sector and VC investments so deep-tech gets 30-50 % of startup funding over the next five years—up from current ~10 %. The move also aligns with India’s push into 6G standards via the Bharat 6G Alliance.
