Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China have signed a major upgrade to their free-trade agreement, extending coverage to digital trade, green-economy sectors and new-industry supply chains. The pact — dubbed Free Trade Area 3.0 — was sealed at the ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur and aims to deepen integration across Asia amid global trade-friction headwinds. Analysts say the deal may shift regional supply chains and bolster investment in Southeast Asia’s manufacturing and tech base.
