In a Google LLC-led $15 billion investment and a separate $7 billion commitment by Tata Consultancy Services, India is edging into the global artificial-intelligence infrastructure race. Although it is not creating the next GPT-style breakthrough, the country is poised to become a training and inferencing hub, supported by its large digital workforce and data-generation scale. Current capacity is small (~3 % global) but the pipeline could triple in coming years. Analysts view this as a shift from service-offshore to asset-heavy AI infrastructure in India.
